Welcome to 4C4D3M14, the academic-lovin' journal for the 'net-literate masses (or should I say el33t? *ducks and runs*). I expect this eljay won't get much action for the next lil' while, as I'm not as muchly engrossed in the academic world as I once was and hope to again soon be.
Really, I got this brilliant idea for a name last night as I was trying to sleep (though it looks better in CAPS rather than the lower-case letters LJ has metanarratively foisted onto me); I figured I should create it right away - rather than as an afterthought in a year or so when I'm thinking "Oh yeah, that idea I had about a journal for my ramblings about academic articles/books/culture. Whatev."
So, as the el-l33t-ist name should suggest, I embrace all things made-up yet intelligent, insane yet refreshingly mindblowing, down-to-earth and realistic yet fascinatingly workable and theoretically inspiring. I have no patience for egos and the unfortunate regular academic snobbery.
I have a professional background (training and/or experience) in the following: history, archives, journalism, public relations, and research.
